| Specimen: | Blood; (1) full Yellow microtainer (no preservative), SST (serum separator), Red (no preservative), Green (lithium heparin), or Purple (EDTA) top vacutainer tube is acceptable.
Protect specimen from light. |

| Minimum Volume: | 10 microL serum |
| Collection: | If tube other than a microtainer, or SST is collected, transfer serum or plasma to a tightly capped plastic aliquot tube within 2 hours of collection for transport.
Bilirubin is extremely photosensitive. Care should be taken to protect sample from light.
Refrigerate at 2-8°C for 7 days. |
