Mycoplasma genitalium, NAA (genital or urine)  ()

Synonyms: 
Specimen:  Clinician or Patient collected vaginal swab specimen using Aptima Multitest Swab. Urine Minimum 5mL and no more than 30mL of first catch urine stream(dirty catch) collected in a sterile container or transfer urine to the Aptima urine specimen transport tube within 24 hours.
                        Volume: 
Minimum Volume: 
Collection:  Collect sample using the Aptima Multitest Swab by inserting 2 inches into the vagina and rotating for 10 to 30 seconds. Place swab into the transport tube and break the shaft against the side of the tube.
Rejection Criteria:  Incorrect collection, inappropriate source, or incorrect collection unit. Urine – more than 30 mL of urine is too dilute to test.
Reference Range:  Negative for Mycoplasma genitalium
Methodology:  Nucleic Acid Amplification
Test Use:  Diagnose vaginal infections
Additional Information:  Specimens collected on adolescents less than 14 years old WILL be performed at LabCorp.
