| Specimen: | Clinician or Patient collected vaginal swab specimen using Aptima Multitest Swab. |

| Minimum Volume: | |
| Collection: | Collect sample using the Aptima Multitest Swab by inserting 2 inches into the vagina and rotating for 10 to 30 seconds. Place swab into the transport tube and break the shaft against the side of the tube. |
| Rejection Criteria: | Incorrect collection, inappropriate source, or incorrect collection unit. |
| Reference Range: | Negative for BV, Candida and Trichomonas |

| Additional Information: | Specimens collected on adolescents less than 14 years old WILL be performed at LabCorp. |
| Testing Includes: | Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) (targets include Atopobium vaginae, Garderella vaginalis, and Lactobacillus species) and Candida species (targets include C. albicans, C. tropicalis, C. parapsilosis, C. dubliniensis) and Candida glabrata and Trichomonas. |
