Fetal Fibronectin  (FETAL FBN)

Specimen:  Laboratory personnel will not be directly involved in sample collection. Specimen collection will be performed by a doctor or other qualified healthcare professional (as determined by AnMed Health OB staff). The specimen must be collected prior to any other exam or procedure without lubricants or gels using the Adeza Biomedical Specimen Collection Kit. Obtain specimen from the posterior fornix of the vagina during a speculum examination.

Minimum Volume: 
Collection:  Transport specimen to the laboratory as soon as possible. Avoid extreme temperatures-specimen should not be exposed to temperatures greater than 25° C. Maintain at room temperature for 8 hours; refrigerate 2-8°C for 3 days; freeze for 3 months.
Rejection Criteria:  Moderate to severe hemolysis; use of any sample device other than the Adeza Biomedical Specimen Collection Kit; insufficient volume; improper labeling.
