Specimen: | Blood: (1) SST (serum separator tube), Red(no preservative), or Green (lithium or sodium heparin) top vacutainer tube.
Blood should be collected after a 12 hour period of fasting by normal procedures. |

Collection: | If tube other than an SST is collected, transfer serum or plasma to a tightly capped plastic aliquot tube within 2 hours of collection for transport. Refrigerate at 2-8°C for 7 days; freeze at -20°C for up to 6 months.

Rejection Criteria: | Incorrect specimen type- Do Not use EDTA plasma;hemolysis; icteric samples; improper labeling. |
