| Specimen: | Stool; 5 grams or 5 mL of fresh stool in a clean leak proof container.
This is a qualitative test and is performed on a random specimen. Quantitative measurement of fecal fat requires collection of a 72 hour stool specimen. |

| Collection: | Transport specimen to the laboratory as soon as possible. Maintain at room temperature or refrigerate at 2-8°C if testing is delayed significantly.
