Specimen: | Stool; submit in a clean leak proof container OR (1) culture swab with visible stool sample.
Collect as soon as possible after onset of symptoms. |
Volume: | 2 mL stool OR (1) culture swab with visible stool. |

Collection: | If test cannot be run immediately, specimen should be refrigerated at 2-8°C up to 48 hours; freeze at -20C for longer storage or if testing is delayed more than 48 hours.
