Specimen: | Urine; 24 hour urine collected in a 24 hour collection container. Do not use any preservative.
Instruct patient on proper 24 hour urine collection procedure.

Volume: | 10 mL aliquot |
Minimum Volume: | 1 mL aliquot |
Collection: | pH must be 4-7. Submit 10 mL urine aliquot for testing. Record 24 hour volume on request form.
Refrigerate at 2-8 degrees C. |
Rejection Criteria: | Bloody specimen; improper labeling. |
Reference Range: | Normal: 0-30 mg/day Microalbuminaria: 30-300 mg/day Clinical albuminaria: greater than 300 mg/day |
