Lymphoma Panel (Flow Cytometry)  (LYMPH PAN)

Synonyms:  Immunophenotyping, Flow Cytometry
Specimen:  Blood or blood and bone marrow
                        Volume:  Bone Marrow- Green Sodium Heparin tube filled completely with at least 3 mL aspirate OR 1 Green Sodium Heparin tube with 7 mL of peripheral blood or 1 cm piece of fresh tissue (e.g. lymph node) immersed completely in a tube of sterile RPMI
Minimum Volume:  *See Volume requirements
Collection:  Room temperature
Rejection Criteria:  Refrigerated or frozen; age of specimen; clotted
Reference Range:  See Interpretive report
Methodology:  Immuophenotyping by flow cytometry
Test Use:  Reactive lymphocytosis vs. chronic lymphocytic leukemia prolymphocytic leukemia vs. lymphoblastic leukemia Sezary Syndrome Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma Adult Tcell leukemia/lymphoma
Additional Information:  It is best if bone marrow specimens are obtained Monday through Sunday from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm. After 5:00 pm bone marrows msut be scheduled in order to provide coverage.
