Lupus Panel  (LUPUS)

Synonyms:  Progressive ANA Follow up testing
Specimen:  Blood; 1) SST (serum separator) or Red (no preservative) top vacutainer tube.
                        Volume:  Full primary tube
Minimum Volume:  2 mL serum
Collection:  If tube other than an SST is collected, transfer serum to a tightly capped plastic aliquot tube within 2 hours of collection for transport. Refrigerate at 2-8°C for 7 days.
Rejection Criteria:  Lipemia; gross bacterial contamination; improper labeling.
Reference Range:  Anti-ds-DNA: Negative: 0-29-IU/mLAnti-histone: Negative: <20 units/mLAnti-Sm: Negative: <20 units/mLAnti-RNP: Negative: <20 units/mLAnti-SSA: Negative < 20 units/mLAnti-SSB: Negative < 20 units/mLAnti-SCL-70: Negative < 20 units/mL
Methodology:  Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA)
Test Use:  Determination of specific antibody results as follow up to positive antinuclear antibody testing or as requested by clinician.
Additional Information:  Performed when Progressive ANA is requested and result of ANA meets criteria for follow up testing.
Testing Includes:  Anti-DS-DNA, Anti-extractable nuclear antigen, RNP, RA Factor, anti-histone, anti-SSA, anti-SSB, and anti-SCL70.
