Specimen:  Blood; (1) Royal Blue (EDTA) top vacutainer tube.
                        Volume:  Full primary tube
Minimum Volume: 
Collection:  Maintain specimen at room temperature and submit orginal tube for testing.
Rejection Criteria:  Clotted specimen; improper labeling.
Reference Range:  Environmental exposure: 0-19 ug/dL Occupational exposure: BEI 30 ug/dL OSHA Lead Standard: 40ug/dLOccupational exposure: BEI : 30 ug/dLOSHA Lead Standard: 40 ug/dL
Methodology:  Atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS)
Test Use:  Monitor exposure to lead
Additional Information:  Sampling time is not critical for occupational exposure (BEI) testing. Blood is the preferred specimen for measurement of acute or recent lead exposure.
