Helper T-Lymphocyte Marker CD4  (CD4)

Specimen:  Whole blood and peripheral blood smear; (1) Purple (EDTA) and (1) Yellow (ACD-A) top vacutainer tube and (1) peripheral smear.
                        Volume:  EDTA and ACD-A whole blood tubes and (1) peripheral slides.
Minimum Volume: 
Collection:  Collect specimens Monday through Thursday only. Maintain at room temperature.
Rejection Criteria:  Hemolysis; specimen refrigerated or frozen; clotted specimen; contaminated specimen; improper labeling.

Methodology:  Flow Cytometry
Test Use:  Monitor patient's helper T-cell status
Additional Information:  Specimen must arrive at reference lab Monday through Friday only and within 24 hours of venipuncture
