Glucose, Urine, Quantitative  (GLU UR 24)

Specimen:  Urine; 24 hour collection in a 24 hour urine container. Instruct patient on proper 24 hour urine collection procedure. Urine should remain refrigerated or on ice during entire collection.
                        Volume:  5 mL aliquot
Minimum Volume:  1 mL aliquot
Collection:  Transport urine to laboratory as soon as possible after collection. A urine aliquot may be submitted for testing with documentation of 24 hour volume on specimen and request form. Refrigerate at 2-8°C.
Rejection Criteria:  Improper labeling.
Reference Range:  0-500 mg/24 hours
Methodology: 
Test Use:  Aid in the evaluation of glucosuria, renal tubular defects; manage diabetes mellitus.
