Specimen: | Blood; (1) SST (serum separator) or Red (no preservative) top vacutainer tube.
Specimens must be collected between 15 and 22 weeks gestation. Submit completed GGC or LabCorp patient information form with specimen. |
Volume: | Full primary tube |
Minimum Volume: | 2 mL serum |
Collection: | If tube other than an SST is collected, transfer serum to a tightly capped plastic aliquot tube within 2 hours of collection for transport.
Refrigerate at 2-8°C for 6 days; freeze at -20°C for longer storage. |
Rejection Criteria: | Sample collected prior to 15 weeks and after 22 weeks gestation; plasma sample, improper labeling. |
