Alpha -1- Antitrypsin Phenotyping  (A 1 PHENO)

Synonyms:  A 1 Anti Pheno, AAT-Pi
Specimen:  Blood; Preferred (1) SST (serum separator) or Red (no preservatve) top vacutainer tube. Fasting specimen is preferred.
                        Volume:  Full primary tube
Minimum Volume:  0.5 mL
Collection:  If tube other than an SST is collected, transfer serum to a tightly capped plastic aliquot tube within 2 hours of collection for transport. Refrigerate at 2-8 °C.
Rejection Criteria:  Hemolysis; specimen at room temperature; improper labeling.
